Job Description
Are you confident supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience managing challenging behaviour and using trauma-informed approaches? The School This specialist SEMH school in South Gloucestershire caters to both primary and secondary-aged students. The school supports children and young people with complex behavioural needs, many of whom have experienced trauma. Staff are committed to building trust and helping pupils develop the skills they need to succeed in and out of the classroom. The Role Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis Foster emotional regulation and positive behaviour Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including teachers and therapists Be part of a trauma-informed environment that supports students' wellbeing Remain calm and adaptable in high-pressure situations Essential Criteria Experience in PRUs or SEMH schools/settings Resilient, empathetic, and patient approach Confident managing challenging behaviour Able to build strong relationships with students Desirable Criteria Team Teach or equivalent training Understanding of trauma-informed practice Want to become a qualified TA? We are currently working in partnership with a training provider. Cidori offer a fully funded Level 2 Teaching Assistant course. The course lasts 4 weeks and will give you the knowledge and skills needed to work in schools. You will become confident leading small group sessions and forming professional relationships with students. On successful completion of this course, you will gain: NCFE Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools & Colleges Level 1 Award in Securing Employment Level 1 Certificate in Personal Social Skills Level 1 Award in Personal Resilience & Perseverance Level 1 Certificate in Securing Progression This is an intensive course, and a great way to get your TA qualifications!
