Mechanical Fitter

Specialist Manufacturer and Distributor of Pump Systems for various industry sectors requires a Mechanical Fitter to join their team. The main purpose of the role of Mechanical Fitter will be to assemble, maintain and repair Pump Units and Systems, working within a well-established team. Offered as a permanent contract with competitive salary (dependent upon experience) and company benefits, the role of Mechanical Fitter is available with immediate start. Ideal candidate would have a mechanical engineering qualification or time served apprenticeship experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment. Attention to detail, proficient using/operating a wide range of tools and equipment and ability to work under pressure would be essential requirements for the position of Mechanical Fitter. Duties of Mechanical Fitter: * Operate a range of machine shop/workshop equipment * Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment * Construct and assemble mechanical pump systems * Fabricate parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques * Strictly adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures * Complete works to technical drawings specification * Diagnose and rectify faults * Work closely with engineers to ensure correct assembly of units Skills/attributes required for the role of Mechanical Fitter: * Relevant educational qualification (Engineering/Mechanical) or time served apprenticeship * Proficient use of tools and machinery * Ability to interpret technical drawings * Previous experience within a manufacturing environment * Knowledge of pump systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, flues, compressors would be advantageous * Problem solving ability * Attention to detail * Ability to work under pressure Location: Birmingham, West Midlands Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 08.00 – 16.30, Fri 08.00 – 15.30 (39 hours per week) Salary: £27,000 p.a. to £35,000 p.a. dependent upon experience Benefits: Enhanced Holiday and Private Health Insurance (subject to contract terms), On-site parking Contract: Permanent If you have the skills and experience to fulfil the role of Mechanical Fitter, please APPLY TODAY
