Description The incumbent will be responsible for effective inventory management and maintaining availability levels for the designated geographic area. The incumbent will negotiate with suppliers for additional space, back orders, special requests and moves. Main responsibilities Ensure that hotel inventory and allocation is controlled and analyzed promptly to maximize utilization of all contracted space. Develop and maintain a solid understanding of products in assigned provinces. Develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers (hotels, activity and transportation providers) to support inventory purchasing and re-purchasing. Work closely with other teams within the organization to achieve the best results for our customers. Acquire knowledge and understanding of our key customer and market requirements. Request additional space according to requirements and contractual conditions. Ensure that hotels/suppliers comply with contractual conditions. Negotiate relocations, if necessary, and ensure that alternative arrangements are as close as possible to the original request with minimal impact on customers. Negotiate with suppliers on rate requests, upgrades and special requests. (Negotiation may include rates and conditions). Location : Montreal or Toronto Job Requirements College diploma. 2 to 3 years industry experience with knowledge of Canadian destinations. Bilingualism - French and English required. Knowledge of computer systems and data entry skills. Negotiation skills and ability to influence others. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to make quality decisions; creativity; results orientation. Strong communication skills, both oral and written (English). Ability to express oneself clearly and professionally on the phone and in person. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (intermediate level). Ability to manage time, processes and systems.
