This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of wireless communication, sensing technologies, and precision agriculture, addressing real-world challenges in rural connectivity and sustainability. The selected candidate will lead efforts to design, implement, and optimize LoRa-based IoT systems tailored for agricultural applications. This includes developing innovative solutions for low-power, long-range wireless communication; integrating diverse sensing technologies; and exploring scalable deployment strategies in rural settings. The research aims to enhance data-driven decision-making for agricultural practices, with a focus on affordability, reliability, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct advanced research on LoRa networking protocols, including performance optimization in rural and remote environments. * Design and implement sensing systems to monitor various agricultural parameters (e.g., soil moisture, weather conditions, crop health). * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including agronomists, data scientists, and engineers, to align IoT solutions with agricultural needs. * Develop and evaluate prototypes and field-deployable systems through experimental trials in rural settings. * Publish research findings in high-impact conferences and journals. * Mentor graduate and undergraduate students contributing to the project.
