Junior Buyer

Ecotone has an exciting opportunity for a graduate-level Junior Buyer (finished goods) who is looking to join a vibrant, fast-paced company whose passion is to promote a healthy planet and healthy food. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Project Buyer and Central Sourcing team working closely with Marketing, R&D and working in cross-country and cross-functional teams to manage several fast-growing categories and contribute to our overall growth and profitability. Who are we looking for? We're looking for someone who is keen to gain experience and forge a career in a purchasing team in (food) fmcg. You’ll enjoy negotiation; be able to demonstrate good relationship skills; be highly organised (possibly with some experience of managing projects) together with advanced Excel capability. Being able to manage multiple priorities, thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment and possessing a natural ability to engage with multiple stakeholders is key. Reporting to the Project Buyer – Central Sourcing, your responsibilities will include Key Responsibilities Supporting the Project Buyer in all elements of their role Monitoring supplier performance; handling correspondence, chasing queries; validating their ability to support our growth agenda; being the main point of contact Developing good supplier relationships and partnerships as background to the supplier negotiations and tenders Supporting the Project Buyer in negotiating prices and productivity plans; ensuring relevant documents and reports are available Supporting the Project Buyer in negotiating exclusivity agreements, tenders and contracts, where applicable Ensuring timely communication with all internal/external stakeholders to assist the clarity of decision making, action and follow-through Keeping an active watch on what is happening in each category eg: product innovation, category trends, market players, competitors etc. Initiating and contributing to innovation and/or renovation projects including value engineering Engaging internal and external stakeholders through effective, concise communication Maintaining pricing sheets, GPC’s, supplier database masterdata Our ideal candidate will be keen to join a fast-moving Buying team at an entry level, and we will provide you with a personal development plan and career growth.
