Marketing and Business Development Assistant Exeter, UK (Full-time, Permanent) An established, forward-thinking UK law firm is looking for a Marketing and Business Development Assistant to join its regional team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for events, communications, and business development to gain hands-on experience in a professional services environment that values inclusion, sustainability, and long-term growth. Key Responsibilities Organise and manage client-facing events including seminars, webinars, and conferences. Assist in preparing marketing materials such as press releases and social media content. Provide administrative support across marketing and BD activities including diary, travel, and budget coordination. Support communications and campaign activities to enhance brand visibility. Help develop market and client insights to drive business development strategy. Attend local networking events to help raise the firm’s profile in the region. Coordinate legal directory submissions and monitor deadlines. About You Experience working in marketing or BD, ideally within professional services (12–18 months preferred). Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills. Creative thinker with a flexible, can-do approach and good attention to detail. Comfortable liaising with stakeholders across departments and at events. Strong time-management and organisational abilities. Familiarity with social media and digital tools; design skills are a plus. CIM qualification or interest in studying towards one is welcomed. Willingness to occasionally work outside standard hours for events.
