ROLE SUMMARY: The International School of Modena, located 15 minutes from Modena city in a rural setting, serves 220 students from over 34 nationalities. IS Modena is an IB continuum school offering the PYP, MYP, and DP programmes, committed to delivering IB values and the Learner Profile, with a strong track record of success in university placements. We seek an experienced Biology teacher for MYP and IBDP, preferably with IB Diploma Programme teaching experience, to join us in January 2025. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate about inspiring students and fostering a love of learning. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our secondary school and department development, alongside teaching IB Diploma courses. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and delivering the curriculum for IBDP Biology and MYP Sciences. Standardizing internal assessments with colleagues. Supervising Extended Essays and Personal Projects. Collaborating with DP and MYP Coordinators to ensure accurate grade data. Participating in staff professional development and school improvement. Offering extracurricular activities related to science. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: A degree in a scientific subject and appropriate teaching qualifications. Recent successful teaching experience in the 11-19 age range. Enthusiasm and passion for Science, with the ability to engage students of all abilities. Experience with IB assessments and Extended Essays. An understanding of personalized, inclusive learning approaches.
