In a Nutshell… We have an exciting opportunity for a Timber Frame Trainee to join Vistry Group. As our Trainee, you will learn the trade of erecting pre-manufactured timber frame homes out on our construction sites. This is a brand-new exciting trainee programme which we are launching this year! As a Timber Frame Installer Trainee, you will be immersed in the theoretical and practical applications of the role associated with successful implementation of works on a given project. You will gain an understanding of the health, safety and environmental principles associated with the Timber Frame construction environment, and the Quality Assurance processes and procedures related to the products and services that Vistry Works provides to the wider Vistry Group. Furthermore, you will gain an understanding of build programme and product/component scheduling requirements; related time allocation and build sequencing understanding; awareness and application of project specific specifications and details; technical design knowledge and understanding; exposure to customer service elements associated with timber frame operations within the wider business. Alongside the hands-on experience we will give you, you will also work towards a Level 2 Construction Assembly Installation Operative Apprenticeship, in partnership with Barnsley College. You will be working in a group of four, with the anticipated site location for this Timber Frame Installer Trainee position to be around Warrington. Two of these must be Maths and English A minimum of a Level 3 qualification. For example, NVQ or diploma Level 3 or equivalent / T Level / BTEC Diploma or 2 A Levels (minimum grade D or above) An interest in developing your career within the Construction Industry Professional communication style with the ability to work within a team of varying seniority within the Business Well organised, punctual and IT literate Commitment to work outdoors in all weather conditions in a manual role, involving use of plant, tools and equipment Due to the nature of this role, you must be comfortable with working at heights Being reliable and showing up to work on-time is essential Willingness to be proactive and positive towards learning and self-development and demonstrating the practicalities of these ethics throughout Full UK driving licenceMore about the Timber Frame Installer Trainee role… To effectively help to implement and control all site-based activities in line with specific project requirements, company policies and procedures Implement excellent health and safety standards on construction projects Assist with planning and carrying out necessary works in the required timeframes Manage the quality of works according to technical specifications and design details provided, in line with approved building regulations and industry standards Awareness of budgetary constraints, cost control and commercial implications Monitor and feedback accordingly on any issues arising from either the client or Vistry Works' functions, products and services Provide and record necessary Quality Assurance feedback throughout the project Minimise waste and provide feedback on any potential value engineering possibilities Minimise the environmental impact of construction projects wherever possibleFinally, let's tell you a bit more about us… We build more than homes, we're making Vistry.
