Job Description
Junior Field Service Engineer UK based Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 Company van then car This profile corresponds to an individual that has solid academic background on mechatronics, technology, electrics that preferably has completed an apprenticeship in the industrial sector. It completes with a short experience (1-2 years) working on different industrial sectors, preferably Robotics and/or CNC automation. Availability to travel extensively, also outside UK, for training. Some examples of qualifications highly considered are: NVQ technological subjects HNC Key Areas of Responsibility: The Junior Field Service Engineer (JFSE) is responsible for trouble shooting and attending electrical and mechanical breakdowns. Able to demonstrate excellent customer facing skills whilst remaining calm and resolving any challenges on site in an amicable manner in line with company policy. Advising the help desk on any breakdown issues. Able to communicate and liaise with the business in the support of all its products. The individual must be focused on delivering and driving solutions through ownership. The JFSE must also be available to attend site throughout the country at short notice providing solutions for our customers and the business. The FSE must be able to understand and demonstrate the functionality of CNC equipment. Providing technical and sales support to the business Commissioning, training and installation Electrical & mechanical breakdowns Driving change through historical and acquired knowledge Documentation and procedures when needed Understand and demonstrate knowledge of engineering activities including: Main Tasks Service work Preventative maintenance Installation and commissioning of capital equipment (Preferably CNC machines) Breakdown electrical Breakdown mechanical Training Supporting customers and the helpdesk on technical and customer issues Understanding mechanical drawings Understanding electrical drawings Problem solve and troubleshoot in the event of difficulties arriving from an intervention Site surveys Customer training CAD/CAM PLC and CNC knowledge Attend training courses Ensure work is carried out to the highest standard within the allowed timeframe and actively reduce any remedial work Advising on installation planning through historical knowledge Technical advice and troubleshooting for customers and the business Taking ownership for the work carried out on site with flexibility in accordance with our customers’ needs Prepare and submit paperwork including, timesheets and expenses Provide information in a timely manner Core Skills: Highly motivated Team player Reliable self-starter Working to tight deadlines Turning customer problems into solutions Relishes and enjoys a challenge Good telephone manner PLC knowledge CNC knowledge Good engineering background in installation, breakdown and electrical An Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings Respectful approach to the business and its customers Good ICT skills Essential Skills: Highly motivated Respectful approach to the business and its customers PLC knowledge CNC knowledge Good engineering background in installation and breakdown Competent in understanding electrical drawings Competent in understanding mechanical drawings Can interrogate electrical and mechanical breakdowns and advise on the necessary remedial action Prioritise workload whilst maintaining accuuracay to detail Good ICT skills Desirable Skills: CAD/CAM knowledge CNC programming knowledge
