Engineering Operator Competitive & Benefits Welwyn Garden City Days Only (Mon-Fri) gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for an Engineering Operator to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City Performance Objectives Diagnose breakdowns, design, promote and carry out Preventative Maintenance Ability to deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose Assist with the installation of new machines and equipment. Maintain and repair of all equipment and machinery. Ability to understand specialist electrical equipment such as logic controllers etc. Work with and install single phase / three phase electrical circuits and equipment. Coordinate contractors and ensure they are working to pre-agreed safety and quality of work standards. Specify, ordering and managing stocks of supplies and equipment within specified budgets. Effective Communication - keeping Management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required. Any other duty as may be required commensurate with the grading of the post and the skill of the post holder Person Specification City & Guilds / ONC in electrical engineering Ideally, the candidate would be experienced in both electrical and mechanical Should have 18th addition wiring regs qualification as well as a Level 3 NVQ Engineering Maintenance 1788-30. Experience of hydraulic systems, electrical heated ovens, compressors, and chemical process equipment PLC knowledge / experience in fault finding and rectification. Good IT skills and experience in using preventative maintenance software. Knowledge of Health & Safety matters in a maintenance environment Manufacturing environment, hydraulic presses, ovens, compressors, particularly in a metal forming environment. Knowledge of hydraulics, hydraulic systems, and pumps Working with single phase / three phase electrical circuits Software based TMP Systems. Desirable Mechanical & electrical biased.
