Cover Supervisor Secondary School Location: Southampton (near Sholing) Start Date: ASAP or September 2025 Contract: Full-time, long-term Hours: 08:15 15:30, Monday to Friday Pay: £90 £130 per day (depending on experience) Supply Desk is currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in the Sholing area of Southampton . About the Role: As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher. While you wont be expected to plan or mark work, youll need to manage classroom behaviour, ensure students stay on task, and provide a calm and productive learning environment. This is a great role for graduates, experienced support staff, or anyone looking to take their first steps into the education sector. Key Responsibilities: Supervising lessons across a range of subjects Managing student behaviour and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere Ensuring pupils complete the work set by the absent teacher Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes or any issues that arise Being a reliable and professional presence across the school day The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working with secondary-aged pupils (in any capacity) Be confident managing behaviour in a classroom setting Be flexible, proactive, and able to think on your feet Have good communication and interpersonal skills Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or have one on the Update Service) Why Work with Supply Desk?
