Nurse Practitioner (Full Time, 40hrs/wk) Naples, Florida ID: 2025-20968 Employment Type: Regular Full-time Shift / Schedule: Weekday Day Experience & Requirements YesCare Nurse Practitioners provide direct care to inmates in the correctional institution and emergency care to staff while observing and maintaining security requirements. Responsibilities include: Providing appropriate health care to inmates. Diagnosing and treating inmates within the scope of practice. Performing routine history and physical (H&P) examinations where applicable. Ordering and, if necessary, performing laboratory studies, X-rays, examinations, and electrocardiograms, as appropriate. Initiating consultation requests and non-formulary requests with supervisory physician’s approval. Educating inmates about medical conditions, use of drugs, diet, weight control, and effects of prescribed treatment. Documenting all patient contacts in medical records using Problem Oriented Medical Record format and SOAP charting. Maintaining confidentiality of medical records. Ordering medications while adhering to the established formulary. Participating in the data collection of the CQI program and participating in the CQI committee, as needed. Performing other duties and responsibilities as requested by the supervisor. Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited program. Holds a current license to practice in the state where the facility is located. Certified or eligible for certification in the scope of practice. Competent to perform responsibilities as defined by the state’s practice act.
