SAS Engineer - Unix Platform

Highlight of the engagement opportunity : Nature of role : Full time Number of years of experience expected : 2-7 years Areas of past experience preferred : SAS programming and SAS Enterprise Guide, Azure Synapse, data analysis - Educational qualification expected: Graduate/ Postgraduate - Additional qualifications/ certifications required : None - Preferable additional qualifications/ certifications : SAS Certified Specialist in IFRS 17 - Preferred geography of previous work experience : India / Europe / APAC / US - Language requirements : Ability to write and speak fluently in English - Application experience : SAS programming Key responsibility areas : - Design and develop SAS programs to support business and research needs - Collaborate with end-users and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications - Test and debug programs to ensure that they are functioning correctly and efficiently - Document code, processes, and workflows thoroughly and accurately - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SAS programs - Performance tuning of SAS programs - In-depth knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles, specifically related to insurance or financial services industries. - Proven track record of successfully implementing IFRS17 solutions and managing complex financial systems projects. - Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all deliverables are completed in a timely and professional manner - Maintain the integrity and security of all data and code - Contribute to the continuous improvement of data solutions - Design and develop batch software on the UNIX platform utilizing Korn shell scripting as a wrapper to execute SQL, SAS and/or Perl programs - Maintain and enhance the source code and process flow for the department's SAS production environment - Follow departmental standards and best practices for coding, testing and documentation - Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations, information/data flow, incorporate security requirements into design - Translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance those.
