Job Description Job Description Overview: The Workforce Development Manager collaborates with the Director to implement TNLA’s workforce strategies. This role manages training programs, certifications, and career resources while building strong relationships with schools, industry professionals, and organizations to develop a skilled workforce pipeline. Additionally, the Manager oversees the TNLA Online Career Center, Endorsed Certification Programs, and workforce-related outreach initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement workforce strategies with the Director. Conduct assessments to understand industry professionals' skills and employment barriers. Assist in launching and maintaining TNLA’s Compensation Study. Provide access to TNLA’s educational programs, certifications, and online learning resources. Support certification training for both degreed and non-degreed professionals, including high school students. Strengthen relationships with high schools, universities, and community colleges to expand TNLA’s curriculum and certification testing. Manage educator training, customer service, and outreach for TNLA’s Women in Horticulture program. Oversee internship programs and certification curriculum reviews. Manage TNLA’s Online Career Center and assist professionals with job search strategies. Build partnerships with organizations like the Texas Education Agency, FFA, and 4-H. Assist in budgeting, financial monitoring, and workforce development grants. Approve events for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and maintain certification records. Develop marketing materials and maintain workforce-related research and communications. Manage endorsement programs, including prison and veteran horticulture initiatives. Complete additional projects assigned by the Director or President. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. At least two years of full-time work experience, preferably in education or training. Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web tools, and database management. Project management experience is a plus. Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Some travel is required; must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
