Essential Functions This role is integral to the finance team of a well-established nonprofit organization, supporting daily accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and administrative functions. The position has been created in response to the organization's continued growth. Key Responsibilities Implement and uphold the organization's financial policies and procedures. Develop and maintain efficient methods for tracking and managing financial data. Utilize spreadsheets and accounting software to accurately collect, record, and analyze financial transactions. Manage financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, budgeting, and special projects. Assist with the annual independent audit and IRS 1099 reporting by compiling and submitting required documentation. Maintain well-organized electronic financial records and files. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement, ensuring timely resolution of any issues. Support the development of organizational budgets aligned with contract and grant funding. Serve as a key point of contact for colleagues, funding representatives, stakeholders, contracted finance team members, and auditors, providing accurate financial information and resolving inquiries. Qualifications and Requirements Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM at the Summit County office. High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field is a plus. Minimum two years of relevant experience in an office setting, preferably in nonprofit accounting. Knowledge of HR processes, labor allocations, payroll (Paycom), government grants, contracts, and treasury management is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and QuickBooks with advanced Excel skills. Strong ethical standards, integrity, and reliability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to efficiently manage high volumes of Outlook emails. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and planning skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and research capabilities. Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in working with diverse youth populations. Understanding of data privacy and financial compliance standards. Background check required.
