OSP Coax Splicing Technician (TRAVELING REQUIRED)

Level 3 Tech (Coax focused) 1. 1-3 years of experience coax splicing or cable upgrade experience 2. Identify network design issues and work to resolve as needed 3. Troubleshoot network and powering issues Location: Sacramento, Bay Area, Seattle, Salt Lake City Tech 3 ($33/hr) Tenure: 12 months Employment source: TEKsystems Job Description: Splicing and activation which includes setting up and balancing electronics to specifications. Work within a team environment to ensure the full job scope is completed within the scheduled timeframe. COAX and/or Fiber splicing on aerial poles. Node splits, cutovers, amps, etc. Providing “live” plant training to an assigned new hire, monitoring the new hire’s progress and responsible for keeping the new hire on track to graduate on schedule. Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle. Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially working for extended times on a ladder). Safely set up and operate at a job work site in compliance with local and federal regulations. Complete daily production reports, mark up maps, keep track of work hours and complete “as-built” maps for areas built. Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts. Continued training and education to support advancement in either technology innovations or role.
