The Role An exciting opportunity for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to work with the security team of a large Social Media Platform organisation. You will design, implement and maintain a robust security log migration pipeline from Splunk to a proprietary SIEM/SOAR platform . You will maintain and improve the reliability, performance and availability of software systems or online services. A combination of software engineering and systems administration skills is essential. You will design, build and operate infrastructure and applications for high levels of traffic, scale seamlessly and recover quickly from failures. This role will focus on automating tasks, monitor system health, analyse data to identify and prevent potential problems while implementing best practices to keep services running efficiently. Essential Skills: We are looking for SRE’s that can; Code without utilising scripts Have software development experience, Write and execute scripts using the Bash Shell , Experience in live support monitoring as well as troubleshooting and debugging. Primary Skills Python coding Shell Scripting Linux System Administration (run diagnostics, configuration and build on Linux images) Diagnostics, Troubleshooting, Debugging (including performance and network issues) Message Queues and/or Service Mesh (i.e. Kafka and others) Monitoring and Observability ( Grafana, Prometheus , etc.) Kubernetes Use Automation and Infrastructure as Code Secondary Skills Docker Distributed Systems (Consul, Zookeeper, MongoDB, Cassandra) Knowledge of SaltStack Kubernetes Administration Deliverables (responsibilities but not limited to) Splunk Administration: Configure Splunk to ingest and process security logs from diverse network sources Data Pipeline Development: Architect and built data pipelines to migrate logs from Splunk to the Bytedance in-house SIEM/SOAR platform Data Transformation: Develop Python scripts to normalize and flatten data originating from multiple sources, ensuring compatibility with the target SIEM/SOAR system. Kafka Integration: Implement Kafka message queues to facilitate efficient and scalable data (log) migration between systems. Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation outlining the various components of the data migration pipeline, data flow processes, and system IR35 As a means of managing tax, commercial and reputational risks, Deloitte prohibits the use of Associates through Personal Service Companies (‘PSCs’). All Associates must contract under PAYE arrangements through a Deloitte approved ‘Employment Company’ (aka ‘umbrella company.’)
