We currently have the following opportunity: Housing Assistant (Fixed Term for 9 Months) - PKC12595 £26,766 - £29,131 North Locality Housing Team, Blairgowrie The role of Housing Assistant is varied and busy, providing front line response and support to customers and colleagues within our North Locality Housing Team and across other Council services and external agencies. The role is predominantly office based but there is a requirement to visit and meet with tenants in their own homes and out in the community either lone working or jointly with colleagues. The Housing Assistant will provide administrative support within the locality housing team in relation to managing appointments, preparing documents, updating systems etc. This role includes provision of reception services and operating a cash collection service where applicable. There is also an expectation the Housing Assistant will provide advice and assistance in relation to housing options, rent arrears, debt management etc. The Housing Assistant will have direct involvement in terminating and letting tenancies, voids and arrears management, low level complaint handling to maintain and improve tenancy sustainment. Skills & Experience Required CIH level 3 would be desirable but not essential. You must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross. You must be an organised and structured individual, capable of prioritisation and working to tight deadlines, whilst being able to react as situations arise. You must have a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service, communicating well both verbally and in writing. You must be competent in the use of all Microsoft packages, but specifically Word, Outlook and Excel and be digitally competent and comfortable in learning new systems. You must be able to work well within a team environment, but also using your own initiative and seek solutions to problems. You must be able to appropriately apply confidentiality when using and sharing information and have an awareness of the relevant legislation.
