Are you a 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer with solid experience working with Windows servers/operating systems, SQL scripting/databases, and ERP systems? Then this is the ideal opportunity for you to work with one of Nottingham’s longest established software companies. Their successful candidate will maintain control system dashboards and databases alongside resolving support tickets, troubleshooting system issues, and maintaining infrastructure, domains, and servers. For this position, they are offering a competitive salary of up to c£30,000 per annum D.O.E alongside a generous benefits package including free parking, flexible working, pension, and sick pay. Due to the role requiring travelling to end-user sites, a full, clean UK driving licence is essential to apply for this role. The role will involve working a daily shift pattern of 8am to 4pm, along with overtime and out-of-hours support (£200 per shift overtime completed - up to 9 overtime shifts per week available). With the overtime, candidates have the ability to accrue a lot on top of their base salary (example: taking one overtime shift a week would get you £800/£1000 a month). If this sounds like the role for you, apply today Roles and Responsibilities Maintain control system dashboards and databases Answer and resolve support tickets raised by end users Troubleshoot network and internal system issues Review logs and documentation Maintain critical infrastructure, domains, and windows servers Produce SQL server analysis reports Work closely with Control Systems Engineers, Field Service Engineers, the IT Support team, and Project Managers Skills and Experience Previous experience working in a 1st and/or 2nd line IT support position is essential Degree or apprenticeship in IT/Software-based discipline Well versed with Windows servers and operating systems Basic understanding of one of more of the following: VB, VB.NET, JavaScript, C, and C# Experience working with an ERP system is essential Familiarity with HTML and basic APIs is desirable but not essential SQL scripting and database experience Confident liaising with end users on a daily basis via telephone and email Comfortable providing out-of-hours support and working overtime as and when required Full, clean UK driving licence About Express Recruitment Express Recruitment has been offering exceptional recruitment solutions across the East Midlands since 1987, “exceeding expectations every time” of over 267,000 candidates.
