School of Hospitality, DBS Global University Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India (On-site) Position Title: Dean, School of Hospitality Location: Dehradun, India Reports to: Vice Chancellor / President of the University Overview: The Dean of the School of Hospitality will lead the academic, strategic, and operational direction of the School, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement. The Dean will play a key role in shaping the School’s vision and implementing initiatives to enhance academic programs, Infrastructure planning, faculty development, and industry partnerships and Placements of students. This leadership position requires a dynamic individual committed to advancing hospitality education and fostering an innovative, inclusive learning environment. Experience in both Industry and Academics is a must Key Responsibilities: Academic Leadership & Curriculum Development: Oversee and enhance undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive programs within the School of Hospitality. Lead curriculum development initiatives, integrating contemporary industry trends and emerging hospitality topics to align with global standards. Foster academic excellence and innovation in teaching methods, digital learning, and experiential education. Faculty Recruitment, Development & Management: Recruit, mentor, and retain high-caliber faculty and staff, promoting a culture of professional development and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities. Infrastructure Development The Dean so appointed will be the founding Dean of the school and hence expected to work rigorously on Infrastructure Development and procurements of equipment’s. Student Success and Engagement: Support student recruitment, retention, and academic advising initiatives, ensuring a high-quality educational experience. Enhance student engagement through internships, career services, leadership development programs, and co-curricular activities. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the student body and faculty. Industry and Community Relations: Forge strong partnerships with industry leaders, corporations, and professional organizations to enhance learning opportunities, internships, and placement for students. Act as a liaison to the hospitality community, positioning the School as a thought leader in hospitality education. Develop advisory boards to guide curriculum development and ensure alignment with industry standards. Operational Management & Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning process for the School, establishing measurable goals in alignment with the university’s mission and objectives. Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and efficient management of the School’s administrative functions. Implement policies to uphold high standards of academic integrity, accreditation compliance, and quality assurance. Qualifications and Experience: Academic Qualifications: Candidates with Industry experience and A Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field will be prefer erred. Experience: Minimum of 20 years of leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a department head, Dean, Associate Dean, Director, or similar. Candidates with industry and academic experience will be preferred. Extensive experience in curriculum development, faculty mentoring Industry Engagement: Established network within the hospitality community and experience in building partnerships with industry and corporate sectors. Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to drive strategic initiatives and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualities: Visionary leader with a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive approach. Strong advocate for student success and holistic development Strategic thinker with experience in managing financial and human resources effectively.
