The Association provides a range of member programs and services, including online education for dentists and their clinic staff, one-to-one member support, and mentorship programs. Position Summary The Social Media & Content Coordinator will report to the Manager, Creative Services and collaborate across teams within the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA) to strengthen the organization’s brand and digital presence as the Voice of Dentistry in British Columbia. The role involves planning, developing, and managing content across multiple social media platforms, with the flexibility to adapt to emerging channels. The Social Media & Content Coordinator will stay up-to-date on current trends and events impacting dentistry at both provincial and federal levels. Additionally, the Social Media & Content Coordinator will balance the dual objectives of creating content that engages and informs current and prospective members while also producing public-facing content that reinforces the essential role of dentists in primary healthcare, and promotes the connection between oral health and overall health. This is a full-time role and is eligible for the BCDA hybrid work model with a blend of in office and remote work. Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement content calendars aligned with BCDA’s Social Media Strategy, collaborating with internal teams to support key events, campaigns, and initiatives that drive engagement and raise awareness among both members and the public. Coordinate the end-to-end development of social media content, including concept creation, creative requests and drafts, approvals, scheduling, and publishing. Work closely with the Manager of Creative Services to ensure all content aligns with BCDA’s brand identity and visual standards. Work with the CEO to develop and implement monthly content and initiatives that strategically leverage networks to enhance BCDA’s brand visibility. Monitor and engage with online communities, responding to both positive and negative comments as appropriate per BCDA guidelines. Track and report social media metrics on a monthly basis, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Assist and coordinate with BCDA’s internal and external stakeholders to execute paid social media campaigns. Provide Social Media event coverage as needed, from planning to execution, live posting and photography. Additional Responsibilities: Contribute ideas/content for weekly Member Update emails based on social media insights. Provide social media content and guidance for staff dentists and Board members to share via personal/business accounts to support BCDA’s social media strategies. Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals and influencers to strengthen BCDA’s network and expand the reach of social media initiatives. Keep BCDA’s Social Media Strategy up-to-date. Coordinate with BCDA's Social Media Spokesperson to plan video concepts and provide support when needed. Administrative tasks as required. Qualifications: 1-3 years of experience in social media or digital marketing. Degree, diploma or certificate in Marketing, Communications, Design, Social Media or a related field. Demonstrated ability to create social media copy with strong writing, editing, grammar, and communication skills. Basic graphic design skills in text and graphic layouts for Social Media content. Ability to create and edit short videos for social media. Experience in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Hootsuite. Familiarity with running paid campaigns and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics) Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to approaching responsibilities through a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) lens. Preferred Skills: Experience in managing a brand’s voice via online presence. Experience with Mailchimp, Wordpress, and Sharepoint. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with managing content on various social media platforms. Experience in a not-for-profit organization or association is an asset. Experience using Monday.com or a comparable project management tool for coordinating tasks and planning content calendars. Salary & Benefits: BCDA offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The salary range is $50,800 - $63,500.
