Mechanical Engineer

OPEN TO GRADUATES We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join team. As a vital member of their growing R&D team, you will be responsible for designing and developing a wide range of fuse-links, fuse-holders, and associated components from a mechanical perspective. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components, particularly focusing on push-fit copper/brass end caps and ceramic barrels. Create and manage technical drawings (2D using AutoCAD and 3D using SolidWorks). Support prototype development, testing, and product introduction activities in collaboration with internal teams. Operate and interpret results from mechanical testing (tensile/pressure) and contribute to ISO 17025-compliant reports. Ensure product designs meet all relevant standards and certification requirements (e.g., IEC 60269, ASTA). Work closely with electrical engineers, quality, and operations throughout the full product lifecycle. Lead revision control and documentation processes for new and sustained product development. Key Requirements: HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in a mechanical design role, preferably within an electrical or engineering product environment. Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Strong understanding of mechanical tolerances, push-fit design, and materials (copper, brass, ceramic). Familiarity with IEC technical standards and testing procedures. Excellent report writing and documentation skills. A proactive mindset, capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
