General Sales Manager (Automotive)

The main purpose of this role is to take full responsibility for achieving sales and revenue targets across both new and pre-owned motorcycles. You will serve as a passionate brand ambassador and inspirational leader, driving performance, fostering a high-energy team culture, and representing the dealership at a senior level. Key responsibilities include overseeing all sales activities and processes, setting and monitoring performance targets, driving marketing initiatives, and ensuring smooth operational management. A strong focus will be placed on delivering a premium customer experience, aligned with the brands commitment to quality, reliability, and exceptional service standards. Requirements Senior Certificate Grade 12 Tertiary qualification in Management, Leadership or Business preferred and advantageous Previous experience as a Sales Manager within the automotive industry preferred Motorcycle sales experience preferable but not essential Minimum 5 years sales experience preferred Proven sales management experience in the automotive industry, supported by business or management training Computer literate Budgeting experience essential, along with knowledge of social media platforms Motorcycle license essential Leadership and performance management experience Demonstrated ability to develop staff Strong customer focus Proven business acumen Problem-solving skills Excellent relationship-building skills Duties will include but are not limited to Achieving sales targets for motorcycles and related accessories Leading, motivating, and developing the sales team to ensure high performance Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers Managing and improving the sales process for optimal efficiency Keeping up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and product knowledge Driving retail financing and insurance sales to maximise profitability Supporting and executing marketing initiatives and brand awareness campaigns Managing relationships with dealers, particularly regarding commercial financing and operations Must have a valid motorcycle license In return, a competitive salary package is on offer
