 Marketing Intern - Unpaid
Job Location: 130 Bishop Allen Drive (heart of Central Square) - Cambridge, MA, United States
Job Description:
About Us
Crimson Hexagon is a dynamic, funded start-up software company providing next generation sentiment mining. We are conveniently located in Central Square Cambridge, with offices less than a five minute walk from the T.
What We Do
Crimson Hexagon provides software that quickly reads and accurately infers sentiment from large quantities of unstructured text, such as blogs, online forums, product reviews, or customer survey responses.
Based on a new technology licensed from Harvard, our software enables brand/product managers to define their own categories to mine for meaningful, relevant sentiment, far beyond mentions or positive/negative/neutral ratings. For example, Crimson Hexagon can infer opinion changes on any topic discussed online, from Barack Obama’s candidacy to a sleep aid medication’s side effects.
What We’re Looking For
Crimson Hexagon is seeking local college and/or grad students with an analytical bent for current internships. This is your chance to be part of a small team, and use your creativity and expertise to help build a great company (and have fun doing it!).
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and refining Boolean terms for RSS searches
- Assisting with categorizing and rating sample documents in support of multiple analyses
- Reviewing RSS feeds for accuracy and splog filtering
- Providing administrative support for our marketing and professional services teams with room for lots of involvement
Unpaid internship with flexible hours
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and analytical skills, as well as a demonstrated interest in software and technology – bloggers are especially welcome. Ability to shift gears quickly and gracefully is a must!
If you are looking for a great opportunity to work with a proven group of professionals in a startup environment (read: fun and dynamic while learning a lot!), this UNPAID internship might be just right for you.
