Outreach Intern for Multi-Media Curriculum on World War II (Jewish) Armed Resistance Fighters

Job Description:
Did you know that approximately 30,000 Jews escaped the ghettos and work camps during World War II and took up arms against the Nazis? They sabotaged thousands of trains, convoys and power plants and saved thousands of lives.
At 16, Gertie Boyarski of Derechin burned down a Nazi bridge with a girlfriend and was awarded a medal of Lenin for her bravery.
At 17, Ben Kamm of Warsaw, Poland liberated a Nazi work camp where hundreds of Jews were prisoners.
Help us tell their stories to youth through our multi-media RESIST curriculum and innovative website.
JPEF is now accepting applications for internships. This internship will start immediately and may continue indefinitely. Interns are expected to devote approximately 8-15 hours worth of work each week. JPEF will happily give potential students class credit for their time at JPEF. A small stipend can also be arranged for this not receiving class credit.

• Learn about “missing piece” of history; and
• Develop skills such as communication, time management and multi-tasking.
About JPEF:
The Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to creating educational materials about Jewish resistance fighters, also known as partisans. JPEF's cutting edge educational content includes original documentary film shorts, interactive lesson plans and online materials. The Jewish Partisans stood up against oppression and tyranny and made a difference. Many of them were teenagers.
JPEF uses these inspirational stories of resistance by teenagers to foster leadership and empowerment in the youth of today. We hope, through the stories of the Jewish Partisans, to show teens that they have the ability to make great changes in today’s world.

Job Requirements:
The Outreach Intern will assist the Director of Education and Outreach with:
• Marketing and distribution of educational materials to schools, synagogues and youth groups;
• Evaluations -- Collecting and analyzing teacher/student feedback about our curriculum and incorporating it into future curricula;
• Database maintenance and data entry of educators from around the country using our material;
• Daily tasks associated with running a non-profit office from filing to mailings.
