The Design Intern will:
* Create sample page spreads for upcoming books
* Design sample/preliminary book covers
* Help choose design specifications for upcoming projects
* Interact with book designers
* Manage the traffic of book production work
* Create marketing and sales material
* Design company catalogs
* Review/proof pages and design templates
* Format proposals and put together pitch packages for new books
* Utilize InDesign and Photoshop to create pages for books
* Maintain company website

Job Requirements:

New York City book publisher and production company has opening for a bright and talented art/design intern who knows InDesign/Quark and the basics of book or print design and would like to have actual hands-on experience -- an opportunity to create interior lay-outs, book covers, learn the book production business, and build your portfolio.
