Job Description:

This opportunity offers valuable work experience while learning about the many aspects of the book publishing world. Work in a friendly atmosphere while developing an understanding of the industry and gaining necessary office skills. Clients include Grove/Atlantic, McSweeney’s, Soft Skull, and Time Out. Interns will work directly with the PGW sales departments. Interns would be involved in assisting the National Accounts and International Sales Departments with such tasks as:
* Compiling sales kits for the trade book buyers
* Organizing supplemental sales material for sales representative and book buyers.
* Title submission of the National Accounts databases.
* Data entry and maintenance into the PGW mainframe.
* Sending samples to international sales reps
* Assisting with sales trip preparation
* Updating and maintaining international customer database

Job Requirements:

Publishers Group West is seeking a student intern who is energetic, organized, and independently motivated with an interest in the publishing industry. The interns we seek need to demonstrate an interest in book publishing, as well as possessing some knowledge of Excel, Word and Internet Explorer. Good writing skills and high attention to detail is a must.
