Accounting Intern

Job Description:

New York City book publisher, production company, and literary agency has opening for bright, positive, energetic accounting intern. We have a unique opportunity for the right candidate who is ready for actual hands on experience, to join our team for either the fall 2008 or spring 2009 semesters.


The intern will learn and be responsible for all aspects of daily corporate accounting, including A/P, A/R, pay role, invoicing, and generating all reports, and to build your resume. We will train you.








Job Requirements:

Intern will learn to:


* manage and maintain A/P, A/R and pay role
* create invoices and purchase orders
* prepare cash flow statements, P&L’s and other reports
* manage company managerial statement
* create, manage and analyze individual project budgets
* review and generate royalties statements
* create forecasting estimates, sales goals and strategic planning reports


Intern will work under the president of LifeTime Media as well as an experienced certified public accountant.


Must work well with others. Must know Excel, and the basics of accounting. Knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus. Attention to detail and to customer/ client needs required. Ideal candidate is organized, impeccable with details, and has excellent phone manner and strong verbal and written skills. As is former accounting, or bookkeeping. College senior or recent grad preferred.
